Before I get rambling and bury the lede too deeply, a brief and important announcement:
I've been busy expanding and refining my photography business.
Consider this letter an official hanging of an “OPEN” sign.
Please, Come In: willingphotography.com

Yes, it feels official and kinda flashy to drop an edited video, new logo, and slicked out website. But, if I can be honest with you…it also feels more than a little mad to be digging in on a photography business in 2025. Literally everyone has a capable camera in their pocket, the competition for well paying jobs is intense, and demand for expertise continues to wane. The freelance business for creative types seems to change by the hour, and myriad doomsday essays published by professional photographers warn of the increasingly barren landscape for aspiring newbies wanting to break in to the field. Younger generations than me can work faster and for less/nothing, while untethered and able to sustain longer hours. The moment is wild and unsteady in countless ways, for the lot of us.
But, fuck it. You know? I’m great with a camera, I enjoy every part of the craft and process, and perhaps most importantly; I’ve already been doing it for years.
At the start of this expansion/remodel I first wanted to get clear on my mission statement. Besides the more obvious technical offerings, what are the intangibles that a client gets when they hire me? With so many cameras, powerful software and AI, isn’t it coming down to the personal relationship as the main differentiating factor? I think I’m a great hang obviously, and I know via decades of immersion in the arts how to both see and capture the essence of a subject. What sets me apart is simply the way that I’ve lived my life, the choices that I’ve made, the work that I’ve already done.
Eventually I whittled a fluffy hunk of verbiage down to what feels like a Hell Yeah:
The Willing Photography Mission
Share the essence of the human spirit
Magnify the passion that fuels every bold dream
Celebrate the courage in every daring adventure
Center the heart in every act of love
There are (always) more tweaks to make, and a portfolio is by default a kind of work-in-progress, but it’s time to get shooting. I’ll be doing studio and on-location portrait work while seeking out creative partnerships with commercial and fine art clients.
In the spirit of grand re-openings, I want to offer 20% off any session for anyone here needing or considering new portraits (professional/solo/family/group). Book here.
I’ll be posting my work to instagram too. Follow me here.
Enthusiastic recommendations and word of mouth will be one of the most important elements to success in the next leg of this venture, and I’ll aim to go above and beyond on every shoot to make that action a no-brainer for my clients. Hopefully the work will speak for itself too.
That’s it for now. Appreciate you reading and looking. As always, thoughts and reflections welcome.
Love, B
Have always admired your work behind the lens. Happy to see you digging in and sticking to it. The world is better for it.
Looks great, homie! Huge congrats. Stoked for this next chapter for you.
